Perspective & Gratitude

One of the most incredible and beautiful aspects of our world is the connection and conversations we share amongst one another to gain new perspectives and cultivate wisdom. By sharing dialogue, it quickly becomes clear how little we know, and how many unique ways of seeing and experiencing the world there are.

My hope and intention in this life is to connect and to expand this little sense of understanding I have. We learn to listen, empathize, and see another for their presence, all the things that bring them peace and joy. That’s it, right? Seeking something like peace and joy, to feel a little bit better, genuine relief and wellbeing.

And how do we find this, exactly? As we walk along this beautiful and uncertain path, how do we find the mountain to climb, and how do we know when we have arrived at any “top”, as if there is truly ever a summit?

And what do we do then, when we’ve made it to wherever we think we ought to be going? A question not meant to stir dread, doubt, and uncertainty, but rather, and hopefully, a greater sense of reflection, observation, and curious depth. In relationship and connection, amongst authentic and sincere conversations and explorations, we can expand what we think we know, and more often, all that we do not know, our ignorance and troubles of being human.

And, to be human, an exceptional feat, as we fumble along with all that is set before us. A great landscape of experimentation, wonder, awe, excitement, love, joy, and peace. It readily changes, fluctuates, evolves, matures, and we, whoever we may be, move through this with great admiration and presence.

And as we expand outward into a rich, complex, and textured world, we return inward and home. Hopefully, this wisdom brings us closer to ourselves, becoming capable of experiencing the beauty around us that is simultaneously paired the tragic pain and suffering. Let it sit side by side, as it will, as we can truly see these things as they are. We clear up our vision and we look directly towards what is here and now.

This is a process of coming back to ourselves, a practice of returning, over and over again, to the light that we are. And this light grows stronger, the more we are reminded. It gains a momentum, as we repeatedly see it through our days and experiences. We remind ourselves that we can choose, and this choice contains all the power. We have to choose.

And with that, we can carry this through every waking moment, shared amongst one another to elevate and strengthen the courage within. The heart will grow stronger and brighter.

Thank you, everyone.
