About

I want to explore the depths and potential of being human, to better understand ourselves, and to do that through shared kindness, gratitude, and humility. Carrying and practicing presence, with myself, with the people I love, and everywhere I go. Presence means a simple kind of attention, an ability to pay attention to what matters. One expression of that is exploring our existential depths and human potential.

I explore creativity and movement through adventures in the landscapes and the high mountains, through Brazilian jiu jitsu and yoga, and through regenerative agriculture, which hopefully all converges to regenerative living, action, and beneficial impact.

On the farm, that means tending to and nourishing the plant and animal world, building up the soil, making compost, starting and preserving seeds, watching plants become, grow, form and change, and, if lucky, harvesting abundance.

On the mat, I revisit the same consistent practice again and again, day after day, to explore the mundane and novelty. There's something powerful and invigorating that happens when tuned into breath and the body relaxes and loosens. On the mat, the breath slows down, counterintuitively. Focus hones, and a fire begins to burn. The mind is sharp, and the body, powerful.

I'm exploring the relationship and balance of movement, of doing and of being. Finding comfort in stillness, finding comfort in silence, finding comfort in the idea of an empty container with moments passing through. We are but observers, after all.

The mountains bring about a mystical experience, a silence and darkness unlike any other place. They remind me of the light that lives within darkness, of what's comfortable and uncomfortable, of what's known and unknown. The mountains remind me of something much greater than myself.

There is a relationship to a system much bigger than me and the human world, the creatures that dwell up high, the ferocious weather systems that move through, and the peace that can exist side by side with tragedy.

My senses are in flux. Knowing that, I'm curious about what remains true, what remains consistent, and what remains deeper within. I'm learning to slow down, pay attention and take very little for granted.

I'm trying to give back more than I take, through the impact I have and the people I touch, hoping to give a touch of beauty to the world around me with respect and a listening heart.

My hope is that when someone lands on this page, they can feel inspired and tap into their own potential, curiosity and wonder. Give their own thanks to the teachers, mentors, friends and family who have made a profound difference in their lives. Our lives are this wondrous archive of experiences, with beautiful connections that glisten like a burning candle.

I hope people can walk away feeling a little bit more light in their hearts, a light with presence. Thank you for being here.
